Intrasite \ Movable barrier Go-Barry is used for widening A2 Limburg

The Go-Barry will soon be used for the widening of the A2 in Limburg. The pilots in which the movable barrier has been tested in recent years were a success, Rijkswaterstaat said.

No more working behind cones. That's the promise of the Go-Barry, an invention by Boskalis. The movable barrier stands on a tracked chassis that can be controlled remotely. This makes it possible to shield road workers from car traffic in situations where it was previously not common to install a barrier.

The movable barrier previously appeared during pilots during work on the A9, A58 and A2 near Wessem. Now Travinci, a company founded by Boskalis and which is further developing the barrier together with Rijkswaterstaat, confirms that the Go-Barry will soon be used for the widening of the A2 between the Het Vonderen and Kerensheide junctions. a project worth almost 400 million euros.
