Transport-online.nl \ Rijkswaterstaat uses an innovative, remote-controlled temporary barrier during A2 work

WESSEM - Rijkswaterstaat, in collaboration with Boskalis Netherlands, is using the Go-Barry for the first time during work on the A2 near the Maasbrug near Wessem. The Go-Barry is a Smart Moving Traffic Barrier of 200 meters that can be controlled remotely. The use of this innovative Go-Barry is a worldwide first.

With the Go-Barry it is possible to close and reopen lanes in a controlled and dynamic manner. The barrier moves itself using caterpillar tracks and can be controlled safely from a distance. The Go-Barry moves along with the work and does not have to be set up and taken down again and again, which shortens work slots and creates more workable hours. In many cases, setting up the Go-Barry can take place in a safe location away from traffic and closing off an entire lane can be carried out within 2 minutes from the lane.
